SOME OF MY BEST WORKArtistic Inspirations
Whether landscapes, miniatures, or resin art nature has been the sole source of inspiration for my artwork. Even compositions inspired by nature tend to influence my calligraphic works in terms of their arrangements of forms within the spaces. Colors, forms, textures, and objects within nature keep me motivated and enable me to think out of the box while weaving imagination with creative skills.
Exploring Color and Form
The initial point of departure is always nature its rich bright contrasting colors and sinuous curvilinear forms. This approach is fully embedded in Mz’s Resin artwork. Her focus is on developing contrasting vibrant patterns and motifs in the fluid medium of resin. To enhance the developed forms Mz finalizes the resin artwork with her designing skills. Rhythmic motifs with minute brushwork are Mz’s signature style: innovative and a hallmark of her individuality.
Nature Meditation
NATURE
Mz’s Love for nature first translated into plein-air painting in oil and watercolors. Later, after being influenced by Transcendentalism she weaved her personal conceptual philosophy into her landscapes. Hence, started to deploy natural elements in her art with symbolic meaning. Either landscapes or natural elements in her miniature painting, especially flora, always carry some sort of personal connotations.
My Traditional Roots
Calligraphy and Miniature Painting are the most exuberant but meticulous arts within the Islamic arts, both which require extreme patience and dexterity. It was a long-awaited desire to go back to my roots and learn the traditional classical art of calligraphy and miniature painting. My artworks embodying the traditional essence aesthetically combine both of these with natural elements to convey the spiritual message.
About Mz
While specializing in Painting during her Masters Mz developed a deep fondness for plein-air painting and painted mostly in oil and watercolor. After completing her PhD in Fine Arts and Post-Doctoral Fellowship from the Metropolitan Museum of Art New York she got highly inspired by patterns and typographical forms of Arabic script while working in the Islamic Art department of the Met. Thus, she started experimenting with form within the art of Resin and learnt the traditional Islamic scripts. While polishing her art historical expertise in Islamic art she also found her desire to learn the traditional art of Mughal miniature painting which she had always observed while studying patterns and motifs. Mz believes in skillful creativity with an unexhaustive desire to learn new and more, which may give way to many unique artworks in diversity and with limitless possibilities.
